Novell Makes Owning Enterprise Networking Solution for NT Easier
PROVO, Utah -- March 23, 1998 -- Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL) today announced that it has lowered the price of Novell Directory Services(TM) (NDS) for NT, its enterprise directory software for reducing the costs and complexity of managing networks with Microsoft NT Servers.
Effectively immediately, customers can manage their networks with NDS for NT for only $26.00 (US) per node (MSRP). Through July 31, 1998, Novell is also offering an aggressive promotion in which NDS for NT can be purchased for just $16.00 (US) per node.
"Novell is responding to intense customer interest in NDS for NT and a desire to maximize every possible opportunity for NDS adoption by removing any potential barriers," said Ron Heinz, senior vice president of world wide sales at Novell. "Our objective is to allow as many customers as possible to see and use the benefits of NDS and this very aggressive pricing will expedite that goal."
Novell's NDS for NT reduces the costs and complexity of deploying and managing NT servers and applications by providing a single point of administration for mixed NetWare(R) and NT environments and a single log-in interface for users. NDS for NT also reduces the time and effort necessary to maintain networks by eliminating the need to manage trust relationships and by making NT Domains manageable objects within NDS. It provides seamless integration with Windows NT Server and will be updated to manage Windows NT 5.0 and Active Directory users, groups and applications when available.
