NUI Representative's Report for 1998

Hello all.

I think this is my one and only report for the year. No excuses - I have just been very slack (but also extremely busy in my job). Also, this report will be short as I haven't got much to say.

Items from Novell seem to be constantly diminishing in number, month by month - but at least they are coming through. At the start of the year, I wasn't getting anything. All items received have been handed to the Librarian.

This year has been a very quiet year for the NUI rep, as NUI-AR has been dissolved and the President has taken on a lot of the liaison with other Groups and with Novell. I am therefore very happy to stand for yet another term (how many is that now??) provided El Incoming wants the position to remain.

The AGM is now upon us once more. Please consider standing for a position - I believe there will be a couple of high profile slots left vacant. If it is any encouragement, the President gets to take a Novell funded (almost fully) trip to Provo in Q1 (February?) for the International President's Summit, and also to Sydney around November for the Australasian President's Workshop (including dinner with Cliff Smith).

See you at the AGM!

Adrian Pitt
(MNUG NUI Representative)
