From the President
Dear MNUG Members,
Welcome to another year of Novell, networking, new products and new concepts.
This year we have a new President (me!). Firstly, I would like to record a huge "Thankyou" to Marc Heymann, our out-going President, for all his great work over the previous years. He has been both President, and event co-ordinator for ages, and has done a fantastic job. As President for more than 5 years, he has been awarded a life-time membership to MNUG. This is a well-earned reward for his great service to our group. We look forward to seeing him continue as an active member of the group, but with a lot less pressure on him!
I have inherited a very active and vibrant group, thanks largely to the work of Marc, and the other executive members - all whom have re-volunteered to stay on for yet another year. Many thanks are due to all of them too!
I hope to continue in Marc's footsteps by bringing the group many interesting presentations from some of the many organisations that drive our networked world. To see where we have been, and something of where we are going, please have a look at our "Important Dates".
This year we are going to start using a new software package called "Chapter Managment System" to manage our members database. This package is the preferred solution for NUI groups and has many useful features. We are hoping that this move will improve our ability to keep our membership information, and processes, more accurate, and up-to-date. Please check your details with us ASAP to make sure that your information is correctly recorded.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at all of the up-coming meetings. I expect that we are in for another great year!
All the best.
John Simmons, President, MNUG.
