About COPY *.MNU

Due to our editors finally coming to their senses and refusing to keep doing this any more, COPY *.MNU is no longer being produced as a monthly printed publication. Instead it is now published live, and continously, on the web. Thus most of the following information is now completely out of date and just plain wrong. However it is being kept here for historical interest...

Copy *.MNU is the newsletter of the Melbourne Novell Users Group, and is published monthly (January excepted).

Production and editing is performed on a grudging voluntary basis. The editors welcome all contributions from readers, be they letters, articles, tips, boilermen's dungarees, obscure treatises on speleology, whatever. Please note that submitted material must be original or have the copyright holders permission to reproduce. Editors reserve the right to edit material for length, accuracy, legality, civility, or other reason as deemed necessary. Contact editors as detailed below.

Material can be submitted in any format, but electronic is preferred, via email or 3.25" PC Floppy Disk. Preferred format is e-mail of any document format which MS Word 6.0a can understand (Plain Text is great!).

Advertising (in the monthly reminder mail-out) will be accepted subject to editorial and possibly executive committee approval. At present advertisements will be run at a base cost of $300 per full page per issue. Pricing for inserts, flyers, and placement of 'classified' style advertisements is subject to negotiation. Artwork on bromides is fine, otherwise hard copy and electronic source is requested.

Circulation is variable, fluctuating with membership. Generally copies are distributed to financial members only, with a few additional copies reserved for interstate User Groups, NUI, lining the budgie cage and similar purposes. Around 560 copies of the December 1997 (the last fully printed COPY *.MNU) newsletter were distributed - eventually!

Deadline for the next edition is the last Friday of the month before circulation.
